What Is DTF Printing?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing creates full-color transfers by printing a design onto PET film, applying hot melt powder, curing the transfer, and heat pressing it onto fabric.

It works across cotton, polyester, blends, denim, canvas, and many other fabrics — without garment pretreatment.

What is a DTF printer?

A DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer prints full-color designs onto PET transfer film. Hot melt powder is applied and cured before the finished transfer is heat pressed onto fabric. DTF is widely used for custom apparel, bags, uniforms, and other textile products.

What materials can I print on with DTF?

DTF transfers work with cotton, polyester, blends, canvas, denim, and many other fabrics, making them suitable for T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, workwear, and custom apparel.

What supplies do I need for DTF printing?

A typical DTF workflow requires DTF ink, PET transfer film, hot melt powder, curing equipment, and a heat press. Cleaning and maintenance supplies are also recommended.

Which Haolic DTF printer is right for me?

Consider your available workspace, print width, expected order volume, production speed, and workflow. Compact models are ideal for smaller studios, while wider or higher-output systems are better suited for growing businesses.
